This is our group Age Friendly North Lanark run by Carebridge. We are a small and mighty group. We are behind senior grocery shopping at the Independents in Almonte and Carleton Place run by our valued community volunteers who keep it going. We created the North Lanark Senior Directory Year 1- and hope it will be three times the size next year. ONLINE and IN PRINT as we get not all seniors have internet. Every senior needs a copy of this.https://carebridge.ca/…/North%20Lanark%20Age-Friendly…We did Concerts for Seniors this year in both our communities.
We are also the creators of One More Home-We want to build one unit of affordable housing for a senior in need in Lanark County to start and then go from there.We are doing our research. We’ve talked to planners across Lanark, politicians, building inspectors, bankers, even four churches from Carleton Place who affectionally describe themselves as the “Angry Churches of Carleton Place.” (They are an affable group and I think just angry that so many people are homeless or living in substandard or expensive accommodation like us) Look out 2022… and the best part of this group? Most of us are seniors..
